Chopin for the Youngest

RULES AND REGULATIONS

§ 1

  1. The 15th International Piano Competition ”Chopin for the Youngest” for children and youth /Antonin 2019/ will be held between 25 and 28 February 2019 at the Radziwiłł Hunting Palace, Antonin.
  2. There are three age categories:
    Category   I - for contestants under 12, /one stage/ born in 2007
    Category  II - for contestants under 15, /one stage/ born in 2004
    Category III - for contestants under 18 /two stages/ born in 2001
  3. The number of contestants is limited.
  4. If in any age group does not have enough candidates, the organizer has the right to conduct auditions without this category.
  5. Contestants who do not attend state-run music schools are also free to participate.
  6. Should participants fall to comply with the rules and regulations they will be excluded from the competition.

§ 2

  1. Application forms should be filled in print and sent in by 13 January 2019 along with a confirmed copy of the birth document, a bank payment receipt and one photograph of 3,5 x 4,5 cm to the following address:

  2. Participants are obliged to pay the entrance fee as follows:
    Category   I - Euro 50
    Category  II - Euro 80
    Category III - Euro 100

  3. Prizes:
    Category I i II – medal, diploma and material prize
    Category III – medal, diploma and money prize
  4. The entrance fee transfer cost is to be covered by the participants or by institutions which delegate them.
  5. The postage stamp date is decisive for recognizing if the applicant has met the deadline.
  6. No application entered after 13 January 2019 shall be accepted.

§ 3

  1. By 20 January 2019 applicants will receive a letter confirming their participation in the contest.
  2. Candidates whose applications will not be accepted shall receive their entrance fee back, diminished by the transfer cost.
  3. The entrance fee shall not be returned to a candidate who withdraws their application after 13 Januray 2019 or fails to appear at the audition.
  4. Participation costs i. e. journey, accommodation and board are covered by the participants.
  5. The participants of the competition book accommodation themselves. The list of hotels.

§ 4

  1. Participants will perform by heart with regard to repetition marked except Polonaises /A-B-A/.
  2. The programmed will be performed in the order stated in the application.
  3. The participants of respective age categories will perform in the alphabetical order, starting with the letter which will be drawn by a special body. The drawing will be held in the Competition office on 14 January 2019. The organizers reserve the possible change of the order of performances..
  4. Not more than a half of the number of Category III participants will get from Stage 1 to Stage 2. They will perform in the alphabetical order starting with the letter drawn before Stage 1.
  5. The date of the show, participants will be informed together with confirmation of acceptance to the competition.
  6. It is admitted to use all editions. It is advisable to use national publication edited by prof. Jan Ekier.
  7. The Jury may interrupt the performance of the time limit is exceeded.
  8. The competition is open to the public.

§ 5

  1. Members of the Jury are nominated by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
  2. The verdict of the Jury is final and may not be sued.
  3. The presentations will be awarded scores from 1 to 25.
  4. The participants who is granted 21 or more becomes a laureate.
  5. The distribution of the awards is exclusive responsibility of the Jury.
  6. Laureates of all the age categories are obliged to perform in the Laureates Concert as accompanying events without extra gratification.
  7. The Laureates Concert programmed is set by the Jury.

§ 6

  1. No extra gratification will be granted to performers for publishing their contest recordings or photos on radio, press and TV.
  2. Contest participants are obliged to comply with all the rules stated above, none of which can be appealed against.
  3. In controversial issues, a text in polish is decisive.
